Start off the year with hearty and satisfying salads – perfect for an easy winter meal at home and great for taking to work for lunch. Your coworkers will be jealous! Terri Schmitt will be in the Artichoke demonstration kitchen to show us how to prepare a variety of whole grains and combine them with modern vinaigrettes and tasty greens. You’ll come away with three amazing hearty salad recipes.

Terri Schmitt is a former personal chef and caterer. She is an experienced teacher who has taught cooking classes around Cincinnati for many years. A graduate of the Cincinnati State culinary program, she has been a Cincinnati resident for most of her life.

Rye Berries with endive, haloumi cheese, and orange zest

Quinoa and Spinach Salad with cinnamon, nutmeg, and cherries

Wild Rice with chili lime vinaigrette and arugula

Class begins on Saturday evening, January 21, at 6:30 and will last for about two hours. The store closes at 6:00pm so we can get everything ready for you; doors will open at 6:15. As with all of our events, this class will be BYOB. Bring bottles of your favorite vintages, and we will provide the glasses and the openers.
