LODGE 6.5" Cast Iron Skillet
A classic for good reason, the Lodge 6.5" Cast Iron Skillet is the perfect size for frying eggs, warming leftovers, baking individual desserts, or serving small dishes straight from the oven to the table. Its exceptional heat retention and naturally seasoned cooking surface make it a reliable choice for everyday cooking, whether you're at home, at the cabin, or around the campfire.
Care & Maintenance
All Lodge cast iron arrives pre-seasoned and ready to cook. At the foundry, each piece is coated with oil and baked at high heat to create the first layer of seasoning. From there, the best way to care for your pan is simple: use it often. Fry bacon, sear steaks, roast vegetables—the more you cook, the better the seasoning becomes. Cast iron holds heat beautifully, so start with lower heat than you might expect and allow the pan a few minutes to preheat.
After cooking, remember three simple steps: wash, dry, oil. Hand wash with warm water, dry thoroughly, then wipe on a very thin layer of oil (anything but olive oil works best). Place the pan over medium heat until it begins to smoke, then carefully wipe out the excess oil. Repeating this process builds a deeper patina over time, creating the naturally slick cooking surface cast iron is known for.
