Artichoke was founded by husband and wife team Brad and Karen Hughes, opening in April 2016 in their beautifully restored building on Elm Street next to Cincinnati’s historic Findlay Market. In 2021 they handed the reins to long-time manager Hannah Bender and her husband Tom Bender, who continue the Hugheses’ vision while adding their own vision and expertise.
We have designed a store at Findlay Market to meet the needs of experienced and novice cooks, those who are new to the Market, as well as those who are regulars. We want to be your go-to place for cookware of all kinds. At Artichoke, you’ll find all the basics, along with unique and classic pieces not available elsewhere. In addition, we strive to find one-of-a-kind handmade items for your kitchen, made locally. We are thrilled to be named 2018/2019 US winner of the gia(Global Innovation Award) honoring retail excellence.
