Lodge 12" Cast Iron Blacklock Skillet
$79.99

The Lodge Blacklock 12" Skillet combines the performance of traditional cast iron with a lighter-weight design and an exceptionally smooth, triple-seasoned cooking surface. Inspired by Lodge's original Blacklock Foundry, this skillet is designed to offer the durability and heat retention cast iron is known for while being easier to handle in everyday cooking.

The triple-seasoned finish helps create a naturally easy-release cooking surface that feels reminiscent of well-loved vintage cast iron from the very first use. Whether you're searing steaks, roasting vegetables, baking cornbread, or cooking a weekend breakfast, the Blacklock 12" Skillet delivers outstanding results and is built to be a kitchen workhorse for generations.

Care & Maintenance

All Lodge cast iron arrives pre-seasoned and ready to cook. At the foundry, each piece is coated with oil and baked at high heat to create the first layer of seasoning. From there, the best way to care for your pan is simple: use it often. Fry bacon, sear steaks, roast vegetables—the more you cook, the better the seasoning becomes. Cast iron holds heat beautifully, so start with lower heat than you might expect and allow the pan a few minutes to preheat.

After cooking, remember three simple steps: wash, dry, oil. Hand wash with warm water, dry thoroughly, then wipe on a very thin layer of oil (anything but olive oil works best). Place the pan over medium heat until it begins to smoke, then carefully wipe out the excess oil. Repeating this process builds a deeper patina over time, creating the naturally slick cooking surface cast iron is known for.
