Lodge 12" Chef Style Cast Iron Skillet
Lodge 12" Chef Style Cast Iron Skillet
$49.99

Designed with input from chefs and serious home cooks, the Lodge Chef Collection 12" Skillet takes everything people love about cast iron and refines it for everyday cooking. The sloped, spatula-friendly sidewalls make stirring, flipping, and sautéing easier, while the ergonomic handles provide a more comfortable grip when moving from stovetop to oven.

Like all Lodge cast iron, this skillet is made in the USA and seasoned with 100% natural vegetable oil for a naturally nonstick cooking surface that improves with use. With exceptional heat retention and versatility, it’s equally at home searing steaks, roasting vegetables, baking cornbread, or cooking breakfast over a campfire. Built to last for generations, this is the kind of pan you'll reach for again and again.

Care & Maintenance

All Lodge cast iron arrives pre-seasoned and ready to cook. At the foundry, each piece is coated with oil and baked at high heat to create the first layer of seasoning. From there, the best way to care for your pan is simple: use it often. Fry bacon, sear steaks, roast vegetables—the more you cook, the better the seasoning becomes. Cast iron holds heat beautifully, so start with lower heat than you might expect and allow the pan a few minutes to preheat.

After cooking, remember three simple steps: wash, dry, oil. Hand wash with warm water, dry thoroughly, then wipe on a very thin layer of oil (anything but olive oil works best). Place the pan over medium heat until it begins to smoke, then carefully wipe out the excess oil. Repeating this process builds a deeper patina over time, creating the naturally slick cooking surface cast iron is known for.
